Self-determination forums for Aboriginal people in Victoria
Aboriginal people living in Victoria have an exciting opportunity to help shape the future relationship between the Aboriginal community and Victorian Government.
The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Natalie Hutchins has announced the dates and locations of four forums taking place over the next few weeks to give Aboriginal Victorians living in regional areas the opportunity to discuss what self–determination, treaty, representative structures and constitutional recognition mean to them.
Questions to be discussed on the day are:
- What does successful self-determination look like?
- What are the fundamental principles for a treaty?
- What is the relationship between constitutional recognition and treaty?
- What should an Aboriginal representative structure look like?
