Victorian Reconciliation Network Forum - on Dja Dja Wurrung Country

Date: 31/03/2017 - 02/04/2017

The annual regional Victorian Reconciliation Network Forum (including tours) will take place on Dja Dja Wurrung Country over the weekend Friday 31 March -  Sunday 2 April.

Following on from the highly successful regional forum last year at Budj Bim, and the feedback from participants supporting a longer forum, this year's forum will run over a full weekend, commencing on the Friday evening.

The Forum will be based at the Derby Hill Blue Light Youth Camp in historic Maldon (near Castlemaine), where comfortable dormitory-style accommodation will be provided (10 bunks per room with en-suite).

The Forum will commence on Friday evening with a Welcome to Country and presentation by a member of the Dja Dja Wurrung Corporation on the ground-breaking Recognition and Settlement Act.

On Saturday the group will visit cultural sites around the Castlemaine area, with local Elder Uncle Rick Nelson. On Saturday evening our regular Local Groups Forum, accompanied by dinner, will take place at the Camp, and on Sunday the group will visit undertake a tour of significant cultural sites in the Boort area with Jida Murray Gulpilil.
